Here at Healing Heart Herbals we are committed to quality education that:
Classes, workshops, and weekend retreats are designed to connect people with nature and teach life skills necessary for survival, growth, and wellness. By encouraging the caretaking of self, others and the land, we hope to create a more viable tomorrow for individuals, families, and communities. We look forward to having you visit this magical green space to grow and heal and learn about gardening, cooking, medicine making, green cleaning, wild foods, kitchen cosmetics, aromatherapy, and anything else that has a positive affect on people and their environment.

Class size is limited to enhance learning, so register early! We delight in custom designing events here at our facility or at other designated areas for individuals and groups seeking such services. If you are interested in scheduling an event with our teachers, please see speaker information for details and a list of possible topics. Personal consultations and wellness retreats are available by appointment and/or reservation. Both custom designed events and personal getaways are intentionally created to fit the individual or group and may include:

Educational Content
· Nature & the Environment Our commitment to personal wellness would not be complete without taking into consideration
the environment in which we live. Much wisdom may be garnered from nature ,which
surrounds and supports us. Nature activities offer excellent hands on experiences
that stimulate learning. They also fulfill many of the learning standard indicators
in math, language, science, and social studies. Art, music, and movement activities
encourage creativity and emotional well-
· Herbs & Health Folkloric herbalism has been practiced throughout history and kept alive through written recordings and oral instruction. The plants themselves, communicate their uses if we look and listen carefully. They provide strength for the body to heal itself and uplift the emotions, which stimulate the immune system. Rather than merely suppressing symptoms they build a strong environment capable of resisting those things that create illness. People today are seeking more preventative health care and want to not only be disease free, but vibrant and energetic as well. We honor the plant medicines and their ability to nourish, heal, and beautify our lives. Herbalism is not a substitute for prescription or over the counter pills. It is a way of life that belongs in the hands of the people. It reminds us to walk in balance, love mother earth, reflect on the cycles of nature, and honor all life as sacred. These things lead to a healthy environment both inside and out.
Though herbalism is the foundation and strength of our approach to health and wellness, we also recognize and incorporate other modalities into our work. Nature herself provides fresh air, sunshine, gentle rains, and moon phases that remind us of the cycles of life. Body work removes blockages and energizes the life force within to flow freely to all parts of our anatomy. Exercise strengthens, relaxes, and makes the body and mind more flexible and durable. Focused thoughts allow the power of the mind to actively attract what we most need into our lives. All of these things contribute to our sense of wellness and improve our state of health.
· Food & Cooking The current health crisis in this country reflects a definite need to change the way we feed both our bodies and our souls. For the first time in U.S. history our children have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. The prevalence of obesity, eating disorders, and degenerative diseases are definite indicators that we are not fueling ourselves properly. Fast food and microwaves have left us with generations that do not know how to obtain or prepare food wisely.
We offer classes on nutrition, labeling, food sources, cooking, preservation, tea,
culinary herbs, and more. These sessions provide valuable information to those wishing
to increase their ability to make wise diet choices, to parents focusing on preventative
child care, to teachers desiring to incorporate food studies into their own curriculum,
or to business groups or friends seeking an enjoyable bonding experience. We encourage
