2010 Schedule

Pre-registration and payment are required to reserve your place in class.  Attendance is limited and fills up fast so register early. When classes are full, registrants will be notified that they have been placed on a waiting list.  Should registration warrant an additional session, a time will be scheduled and announced via email.

Herbal Weekends


May 1st & 2nd - Stress Management: Learn about relaxing herbs that tone the nervous system and allow you to function more efficiently. We will also explore breathing and movement exercises that calm the mind and body. Participants will formulate and prepare a tea blend to take home and enjoy in the comfort of their own home. They will also create aromatherapy bath products to chase away the chaos of their hectic lives and promote quiet slumber.

May 22nd & 23rdGrowing and Harvesting: During this session will explore the various aspects of gardening from soil conditions to planting by the moon. Participants should bring containers to take home root divisions of plants they may want to add to their own gardens. We will also be harvesting local plants and making a spring tonic for cleansing and supporting the body.

June 19th & 20th - Wise Woman Magic: This weekend incorporates the elements of the wise woman tradition – common weeds, compassionate listening, and simple ritual. Discover the healing power of the maiden, mother and crone enhanced through focused intention. Experience earth based spirituality as we celebrate the summer solstice and its many gifts.

July 24th & 25th – Medicine Making: This weekend begins with a session on formulation that introduces the basic guidelines for creating one’s own combinations of healing medicines. Participants will demonstrate through hands on experience the making of their own herbal remedies - salves, tinctures, and liniments to include in their own personal first aid kits.

August 14th & 15th – Food as Medicine: In addition to discussing specific herbs traditionally used to heal the digestive system, we will also delve into culinary herbs and spices for flavor and well being. Students will have the opportunity to taste simple healthy concentrated foods such as green drinks, kombuchi, and joy balls that may be consumed on a daily basis for increased vitality.

June 18th thru June 27th -Week Intensive: This option allows foundation students to travel less and concentrate their 5 weekends into one long week. We will begin with the Wise Woman Magic Weekend and roll right into another week of herbal learning. This educational opportunity is available to the general public for $1250

Resiliency Life Skill Experiences

August 21st: Jams & Jellies- preserving fruits with the added flavor of herbs
September 11th: Bread Making- scones, quick breads, and yeast breads
November 6th: Stretched Turkey- creative dishes with leftover turkey
December 4th: Christmas Cookies- Parker family favorites with a few new delights

These one day workshops focusing on life skills are held from 10 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. and include lunch and all supplies. Participants will not only take home recipes and handouts but also samples of the items they have prepared. Cost: $75

Women’s Retreats

March 20th & 21st and Sept. 18th & 19th : Sometimes it’s just nice to get away with girlfriends and hang out. It allows us to honor sisterhood while also opening up to the delights of being female and not feeling so alone in our hectic lives. These weekends are filled with delicious food and tea party, natural body care pampering, crafts, and movement. There is much to learn but the primary goal is to relax and feel good. These are great get-aways for the single woman or a group of friends. Cost: $175
